Municipal Committee Welcome to PROP’s Municipal Committee webpage . . . MCPROP! The Municipal Committee is one of the non-traditional committees in that its members are comprised of all of the 2,567 municipalities along with their staff and the County Recycling Coordinators. To better serve all of these Committee members, a Municipal Roundtable is held in the east in conjunction with a Roundtable held in western Pennsylvania. Roundtables usually include PROP, PA-DEP, EPA and special guest presentations, open floor discussions, followed by a tour of a special facility (i.e. a Green Building), innovative equipment, etc. The Roundtables are organized by the PROP Municipal Committee Chairpersons and Jan Arnold, PROP staff liaison. The PROP Municipal Committee Chairs are as follows: West Committee Ellen Keefe, Westmoreland Cleanways, Westmoreland County Shawn Wigle, City of Pittsburgh, Allegheny County East Committee Ann Saurman, City of Allentown, Bureau of Recycling & Solid Waste, Lehigh County Jean Long, North Cornwall Township, Lebanon County Phyllis McGann, South Lebanon Township, Lebanon County The PROP Roundtables are held to help municipalities address challenges grant updates the latest legislative news recycling, organics, and other environmental issues. The PROP Roundtables are an opportune time to network with other municipal representatives as well as DEP & EPA representatives share your story provide input, and learn about innovative programs and solutions to those challenges.
