Waste Tire Recycling Grants
To prevent the numerous environmental and health hazards associated with waste tire piles, the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) provides grants to municipalities through the Municipal Waste Tire Grant Program. |
Act 190, Chapter 2 Household Hazardous Waste Collection Grant
This grant provides reimbursement to registered sponsors of collection programs for household hazardous waste, electronics, and tires (but not tire pile cleanups). Reimbursement is available for up to 50% of eligible costs. Eligible costs typically include collection, transportation and management of the wastes plus education programs. |
Act 198
Resource Recovery Development Grant
DEP solicits grant applications annually for unique and innovative demonstration projects that recover energy or materials from solid waste. Municipalities and municipal authorities may apply. Funding is provided through the Act 198 Fund under the Solid Waste - Resource Recovery Development Act of 1974. |
Recycling Markets Infrastructure Development Grant
To make the demand for recyclable materials even stronger, Governor Edward G. Rendell said today Pennsylvania is making $1 million available to manufacturers so they can buy equipment that increases their use of recycled content in finished products.

Composting Infrastructure Development Grant
Reimburse for-profit business entities (whether established or start-up) and non-profit organizations located and operating in Pennsylvania that use organic materials limited to yard waste and food waste feedstock collected in Pennsylvania. The grant aims to increase the volume of organic materials being diverted and composted and assist busineeses to increase their use of organic materials. |
